Effects of Propranolol on the Bradycardia Produced by Atropine and Scopolamine

Abstract
|
|
|
1. Atropine(0. 1 mq) and scopolamine(0. 1 mg) produced bradycardia in human volunteers.
2. Oral propranolol(40 mq) produced bradycardia in human volunteers.
3. The prior administration of propranolol did not affect the magnitude of the bradycardia by atropine.
4. The prior administration of propranolol decreased the magnitude of the bradycardia by scopolamine.
5. The discussion was made concerning the mechanisms of the bradycardia by atropine and scopolamine.
